The East

It’s easy when it’s not your home, easy when it’s not your life, the place where you sleep, your kids your wife, but when it’s your fault it shouldn’t be so easy to sleep at night especially when we know where you live. We don’t care how rich you are, we want all those that are guilty to experience the terror of their crime because it shouldn’t be so easy to get away with murder. Lie to us, we’ll lie to you, spy on us, we’ll spy on you, poison our habitat we’ll poison yours. We are the east and this is just the beginning, we will counter attack 3 corporations in the next 6 months for their worldwide terrorism
We are the east, we are not hiding from you we are you, we are the morning you woke up thinking is this it? Is this the best life has to offer? No there is a freedom inside you that knows no fear. We are the time you got off the treadmill and ran out under the open sky. We are the first time you kissed someone and they kissed you back

I love when a film is really able to remind you who you are and what you believe in. maybe I’m just naïve  but I truly feel that films have that power. As I sit here listening to the rain pour at 4:30 in the morning I am overcome by sense of comfort . I feel that I retreat to movies extremely easily when I am sad or feeling lost and so many movies have these story lines that center around women relying on men and all about love making you a better person. I do believe that everyone we meet makes us better people  and that we are constantly learning lessons about life through our experiences but to think that one person can make your life sunshine and rainbows I think that can be a recipe for disaster. The East is such a beautiful movie to me because it takes lessons about social and political justice that have been instilled in me from a young age and discovering yourself, it illustrates how its painful and most of the time issues aren't black and white there is a grey zone. I don’t want to strive to find love from someone i dont think that's healthy everyone is equal everyone deserves to have basic human rights and even in our society there are many people that are still being wronged. I love this film because it reaches deep inside to that part of us that feels like we can change the world and make it a better place or at least get justice for those that have been wronged.
